first of all: great job, keep up your good work. i'm using operator for >6 months now – it's one of my favourite browsers!
now here's my little complaint :)
the older operator versions used a different program icon that contained transparency in the center of the ‘o’, you can see it on this screenshot: http://www.pic-upload.de/…8/keuhfw.png
the latest program version has a new program icon that is glitchy – the transparency in the center of the ‘o’ is missing, you can see it on this screenshot: http://www.pic-upload.de/…8/rpj3m1.png
besides, it doesn't seem to be placed exactly: the ‘o’ isn't placed exactly in the middle of the icon and thus, the borders on the right and bottom side are missing.
can you please fix this with your next version? i know looks isn't as important as functionality, but it's just ugly now and it used to be already perfect in the past.

The transparency is not
The transparency is not missing – the interior is just white ;) . It's true that the “O” isn't placed exactly in the middle – it's because of the shadow the bottom and right borders cast. Just zoom in the screenshot and you'll see.

thanks for your quick “it's not a bug, it's a feature” reply :) sounds to me like you won't change the icon? if so, is there a possibility to replace the new icon with the old one myself? i know how to replace it for the program shortcut, but i have no idea how to do it for the task bar icon. i tried to replace the icons with resource hacker but it didn't really work out. can i simply replace the operator.exe with an older version or will operator stop working then? pls help :) ty!

I don't say it's perfect but in my opinion it's better than the old one.
In OperaTor go to opera:config#UserPrefs|ApplicationIcon and enter the path to your custom icon. You can use the
operator.icofile from the old package. Hope this helps.Cheers

in case you asked yourself ‘why the f*** is this guy dealing with my program icon’: i studied graphics design with focus on interfaces and thus, i'm interested in trying to improve existing designs that are imperfect in my eyes.
to bring this topic to its end, here's my suggestion for you:
keep the shadow design for the start menu icon but remove it for the task bar icon.
i made two screenshots for you to illustrate the two scenarios.

Thanks, but to be frank I don't like the look of the icon as presented on the second screenshot. I would rather introduce a totally new one.
