Download OperaTor 3.5

OperaTor weights 10 MB and is Windows only. After the download is finished:

  • check its MD5 checksum: 7a288e64811219b0ccc081398632288f *OperaTor-3.5.zip
  • extract the archive to the location of your choice
  • launch the OperaTor.exe file to start all the necessary applications

Please do not link directly to the files. Link to this page instead.

Important

The only protocols which OperaTor anonymizes are HTTP and HTTPS, thus if you want to stay anonymous you should avoid using other Opera features (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Bittorrent, integrated e-mail and IRC clients).

OperaTor comes with absolutely no warranty. It is the user's responsibility to test whether the connection is secure. Users should keep in mind that OperaTor relies on Tor (The Onion Router) and Polipo and any security questions should be directed to their developers.

Troubleshooting and bugs

If you seek support or want to report a bug, please use the Troubleshooting forum. You will find a list of frequently asked questions there, too. Do not post your bug reports on the current page as they will be removed.

I know this is going to

I know this is going to sound weird, but I use OperaTor with Tor turned off. I don't use the Tor network very often, but OperaTor is still the best portable Opera bundle there is, so I use it everyday for everything. It's my main non-Tor browser.

Disabling fraud protection

I disabled fraud protection on first run of Operator 3.3, shut it down and restarted. It kept fraud protection disabled. I haven't run a packet sniffer yet. So, I don't know if there are any other issues. I despise Smokepig, er uh Firefox, and was excited by the possibility of using Opera anonymously. However, I will be looking into Tor's bundles and recommendations further.

They are both the same file,

My Opera or PBwiki??

I would like to try operator 3.3, and I have been reading but cant find an answer for my question. There are 2 options to download, operaTor 3.3-PBwiki and operaTor 3.3-MyOpera. Could someone be so kind as to tell me the difference please, or point me in the right direction, so I know which one I should DL? The answer may already be posted, but if it is I over-looked it. Thank you

Polipo

It seems to me that Polipo in Operator comes from its original site where has not been configured to scrub anything (headers, cookies…). So in Operator does not do it too. Am I right?

Hi

It seems to me that Polipo given here comes from its original site where has not been configured to scrub anything (headers, cookies). So in Operator it does not do it too. It only connects to Tor. Am I right?

HMN?

OperaTor Needs some sort of SOCKS Cap, to resolve the issue with DNS Leakage! To bad Opera wont just add Socks Support to their browser, problem would be solved!

Grr Stupid Opera!
